After a visit to Glass Beach at McCurdy Point, Port Townsend for some sea glass hunting, we had to start the hike back to North Beach or risk being cut off by the tide.

This is sea glass hunting at its most extreme! The high tide at Davenport, California can be very dangerous but that is when the very best sea glass is found.
How to Find More Sea Glass

Here's a tip on how to find more sea glass, rather than simply walking along the beach. You can see that I find lots of it in no time!

    Looks like a beautiful area. I love England. In Florida sadly, we have a lot of trash wash up on the beaches. But, once in a blue moon we find some sea glass or sea beans which are cool finds. In Michigan where I grew up on a lake, I used to find blastoids which are really cool. I cracked one open as a kid, and it had a bunch of crystals- like formations inside it.

    being from Australia I never thought I'd be envious of the beaches in the UK! But wow, so much history. You'd never find beach glass like this here, maybe once in a blue moon.

      This is where my happy go lucky adorable older brother was going, well not exactly here but Australia, in 1983 to start a business with a dear friend. Sadly, his full life's plans went to moot, as he lost his life in an accident that same year.It's okay finally because I had to let him go- the only way to endure this is I believe he is with Jesus, I'll see him again. Like to think had he lived, I'd be visiting him here- and picking up trinkets & baubles on the beach. Thanks so much for this, and what a beautiful extrodinary experience. Thanks for sharing❤ beautiful reds

    Nearest international airport is Newcastle. Then take Metro to Newcastle Central Station, then train to Seaham. It would be a shame just to visit the beach - whilst you're in the area (North East England), you should visit Durham Cathedral, Newcastle, Hexham, Hadrian's Wall etc etc etc etc....

    Hi, visiting Seaham beach soon, when is the best time to get to the beach for sea glass, as the tide is going back out? Say the low tide time is 2pm, how long did you wait until you could search for sea glass? as the tide goes back out? I’m a bit confused with tide times! and when to search!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ thank you

    Can you Polish sea glass in a tumbling Machine ?

    • @jonnamclean1674
      @jonnamclean1674 6 років тому

      Ady&kim wild-Camping uk Uk yes you can. Most of us prefer the natural surf tumbled sea glass. Machine tumbled is more smooth and doesn't have the c marks you get from ocean tumbled sea glass.
